The way that Windows uses ram is such that even when many programs are
loaded not every byte of each program is loaded into memory. Smaller
chunks are loaded at a time. It does seem that you have a lot of
programs loaded, but I think one would have to be able to calculate
the amount of ram needed by each program and add them all to determine
whether you have a real memory problem. I suppose that you could add
another gig of ram but that may not fix the problem. If you can you
should not load so many programs to see if that improves things.
