Thanks Dale, I was able to complete the clearing process, but it did not fix 
the problem. I went ahead and tried to re-install the printer from scratch. I 
followed the instructions that Donk gave me and step 1 was fine. I removed the 
printer. Went back to the control panel and found a list of the software. 
Nothong on the list was related to HP, so I could not un-install anything. 

  Then I tried to install the printer from scratch, like I did when I got my 
new computer. Hit another stone wall. Durring the process, it tells me that my 
opperating system needs to be modified to continue. Does not say how, or 
provide a way to do it. The system accepted my HP 3520 printer back in June, 
but will not accept it now.

 Windows 7 has been a nightmare for me from dau 1. Wish I had my old XP back 
again.
