I certainly prefer windows servers over mac servers.
Methinks you haven't spent much time with Mac OS X. Certainly compared to MacOS 9, Windows fared favourably as a server platform, but compared to Mac OS X (especially Tiger), I fail to see in which way Windows is in any way superior. In terms of stability, security, ease of administration, and breadth of server software available, as far as I can tell Mac OS X beats Windows easily. If I am wrong about that, I would be interested to know how.
As for the speed of 4D on the two platforms, supposedly 4D 2004.2 + Tiger brings 4D up to par with the Windows version.
I'm not trying to start a flame war, I just want those who read this list to have an informed opinion.
