An Xserve with unlimited MacOS X Server can be had for about that.
Do you even need to run OS X Server? If not just run Tiger standalone
and then you have no need to purchase even a 10 user license.
Personally I would go for a G5 Dual over an xServe unless you need to
rack it etc.

Thanks for the feedback Mehboob.
I just purchased a dual processor PIII IBM server on
EBay. With some RAM, and a a cheap upgrade to the
processor, I have a rather powerful server... for
about $400.
In an earlier message I mentioned MacOS X being less expensive but
I should have been clearer. I was refering to the operating system
itself and not the hardware. Last time I looked a 25 user license
for a Win server was something over $3K. An Xserve with unlimited
MacOS X Server can be had for about that.
But you bring up a good point. Do you need Win Server to run an
Active4D app? My guess is no. What are people running Active4D
using when it comes to a Win OS? Win2K? WinXP?
And then, Active4D still runs pretty fast.. :)
Good to know it's fast in the real world.
