Probably the biggest preformance hit comes from compiled versus interpreted. 
Whichever 4D product i use would have to allow for using a copmiled app. I 
don't think 4D Runtime Classic does but I'm not 100% certain of that.

I don't think the GUI has much bearing on performance but I have limited 
experience with Active4D.

Why do you end up running them as normal apps? That's the kind of real world 
experience I'm looking to learn from.

I tend to prefer Mac servers over Windows, but then I all I have are Mac 
servers. lol. On the other hand, if Windows is significantly faster, then I 
might reconsider.
