Find out what codec the file is using; possibly that file is not on your
computer but if you install it premiere may be able to play it. Thats my
best guess.

Subject: [AP] Point and Shoot AVI Files not recognized

I have a canon point and shoot that can also shoot video clips. It
saves the files in .avi format, but when I try to import them into
Premiere it say it's not a supported format.

anyone been through this?

done some "converting" in Roxio, but lost the sound for some reason
