It happens to me when I have sequence over 45 minutes.  To work around, I work 
on sequence about 30 minutes each, then use nested sequence to put them back 
together. That save some time in waiting around.

hello,I have a problem with my premiere, with everything i change: forexample 
move a clip on/or to the timeline,cut the clip or add a effectpremiere has to 
think for 5 /15 sec untill i can continue. does anyoneknow what could be the 
problem. i don't have this problem with smallerprojects, with less footage. is 
the project too big for premiere or isit a memory problem?I'm working in 
premiere pro 2.0 with dv pal footage.my project contains 9 hours of footage, ad 
my edit is 1 hour,containing different timelines.my system is a dual Xeon 2,33 
ghz. 4 GB ram and a quadro fx 560videocard. windows XP64the footage is located 
on my internal harddisk(3x250GB raid 5)thanks, louk
