Hi Michael.

Because my clips are generally direct from the HandyCam's HDD and are usually
the result of recording a two hour performance (or more), sometimes with an
interval, I tend to leave the camera running continuously and I end up with
several files around 2Gb in length, with the last one in the sequence possibly
smaller. These are numbered in sequence and if you have a number of files that
you want joined in a particular order, it's likely you will need to
sequentially number them, if they're not already.

The clip files are saved into a folder on the PC and I then start VidoReDo,
wait until I see the Open Video front page, then simply select all of the clip
files I want to deal with in one go, and drag and drop them straight onto the
front page. VideoReDo will the open a monitoring screen and play my clips,
correctly joined, in order, without stopping. I don't bother to play right
through, but pause and use Add Selection, then Save As. Give the entire joined
clip a filename and save as usual. Wait until the program has completed a Fast
Frame Copy, ignore any negative time estimation and just wait for the an audio
"Tarada" and a report. Voila. You can now play the new file faultlessly in any
MPEG2 player including Premiere Pro.

Regards,

Alan.

  Alan,
Thanks for the reply. I'm trying the VideoReDo now. I'm wondering what
process you use in the VideoReDo to accomplish the cuts, then the
stitch. I just tried the "Quickstream Fix" under the tools menu. The
result was a 27 + minute file down to 4 + mins and played at 4 x speed.

This video has been giving me fits since May. The videographer was
obviously a novice and used the Sony capture program to create the DVD,
which I re-encoded to MPEG2. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

  Thanks again,
