Hi Philip, What you write about tapes is ignorant. You can't compare digital recording to analog recording. With digital recording, a tape can't have any influence on picture quality, apart from digital drop-outs. What you're saying comes down to music sounding better when recorded on more expensive CD-ROMs, and that is ridiculous.
This is basic knowledge. Rational thinking. No room for arguing. Also, money is not an issue here. When I purchased the camcorder it was an urgent matter because I had a shoot planned and my PD150 broke down. And the supplier only had those Canon DV cassettes on stock, nothing else. So I picked those. Maybe I also used some Panasonic pro tapes in this camcorder but I can't remember. Again, my opinion about this camcorder is my personal opinion. I never said that it IS crap.
