Rieni writes "...software can be used by first purchase only..."

Although it's been a few years since I did this, I found that it was
perfectly legal and proper to sell Adobe software. I just had to contact
Adobe to release the license from me. Then my customer could properly
register the software as hers.

I have a composer friend who used Premiere to do her audio mixes because
she could mix 99 audio tracks and slip and slide pieces.

When I upgraded my copy of Premiere, we went through the licensing swap and
all was hunky dory.

"What I hate most about pirates is when they go preach their "everything
should be for free" bullshit."

Riiiight there with you, man!

I had a fellow at a show recently try to convince me that people torrenting
movies was a good thing, as long as they credited the makers of the movies
(and specifically small filmmakers). I tried to explain to him that, as
one of those small filmmakers, every single DVD or stream I sell I counts
as income, so, no, "crediting me" is not enough. This is how I make my
living. I tried to be polite about it, but damn. What a jerk. After he
left, one of my partners came over and said "I'm glad you were talking to
him. You're a lot nicer. I would have just been punching him a lot until
he fell down and then punched him some more."

So, right there with you on that one, Rieni!

Cheers,

Edward
