It was a figure of speech.  I *meant* (though I may have failed) to
refer to that same class of people Chris was referring to: those who
have been exposed to, and inculcated with, a bunch of ideas that are
regarded by some as perhaps academically pure, but of little value
in the real world.  Chris certainly didn't (nor did I) mean to suggest
that if you don't have a degree, you can't be a computer scientist.
