Yeah, I'd rather do that any day of the week.  Frankly, I'm not interested in one time work from most internet customers.  They'll try to hold you responsible for that PTP connection until the end of time even though you only got paid for it once.

Plus your tech support deals with internet connections every single day so adding one more internet connection for them to support doesn't hurt, but adding special stuff means they have to know how to support the special stuff.

Just my 2c.

We used to default to offering a PTP for a one time fee, and a ~90 day warranty.  Now we default to offering a second PTMP service at the full price, and it is surprising how many people bite on that.   We still do some PTPs when customers don't have LOS at the second site, but mostly it is to avoid losing their business by failing to meet their needs.

Depends I guess.   IMO it's important to have a demarc point.  It
could be the CPE, PoE, Surge protector, jack on the wall,
whatever.  You pick a point and anything before that point is your
responsibility.  IMO it should be a point where you can remotely
test everything up to that spot.  Anything past that point is
billable either as T&M, or as a recurring managed service.

Anything you're doing past the demarc is creating a blurry area in
people's minds.  Your techs don't know where to stop working for
free, and the customer doesn't know whether they should call you
or call a computer fixin guy.  They'll default to calling you.

So yeah, I'd do a cheapo point to point link with outdoor bridges
for $400.  Or I might do it for $10-$15/month as a recurring
service.  My rule of thumb is equipment cost/12, round to fives.
If it's a recurring fee then they'll expect support, so I'd make
sure people know they have to meet the same standards as any other
installation, and that the equipment needs to be remotely manageable.

If it's a separate, second internet connection then just charge
full price for it.  It's putting the same load on your
infrastructure as the first connection, so why they should they
    get a discount for it?

Been having a lot of customers lately wanting internet service in
extra buildings, garages, barns. In the past i have helped them
do this but not added any monthly bill for it and it seems like
half the time end up having to go back for service call to fix an
issue in a building basically not getting any monthly residual
for. Does anyone offer to customer the ability to hook up extra
buildings on their property and charge them monthly for it? I am
thinking another monthly bill for same package they are on -$10
month since its a second building. So if their main home is
$50/month second building is additional $40. Anyone else doing this?
