I could be wrong, but I think you want the nut against the face of the
brick to be snugged up & not back off to achieve "level" on the mount.
What I would do is to snug up the nut on the face of the brick, & then
add washers to achieve level.
If the nut on the face is not snugged, I think they might work loose?
