I am against the distracted driving laws altogether. It's a revenue generator
more than anything else.

Young and elderly drivers should have more frequent testing. In general, I
cannot imagine what a bit tougher driving standard tests would hurt. I am
normally not in favor of the government's involvement in anything but the whole
cell phone while driving thing has been out of hand for a while. Maybe phones
should be disabled while in motion. I use my hands free bluetooth stuff but to
be honest, I know I am not as attentive while talking on it even though I am
not looking at it.

I just wish if they are going to crash, that they don’t take down a utility

Sorry, I still have 2 major towers on portable generators.

* rant *

I’m convinced most American’s can’t drive period. I travel all over this
country… and I am consistently enraged. New York City area was the only place
where people seemed to know what they were doing. Things are so frantic, if
you’re not paying close attention, you’re going to get in an accident.

I’m actually in favor of making getting a driver’s license much more difficult.
People in Europe are better drivers on the average in my experience (Latvia and
Germany). Annual car inspections (broken windshield, balding tires… that car is
taken off the road). Forced drivers education.

I love in Europe… if you take your driver’s test with an automatic transmission
you’re not allowed to drive a manual (most American’s can’t anyways…).

Just moved to MO from Alaska. Can confirm, nobody here knows how to drive.
Cruise control obviously hasn't been invented yet, and if you want to pass a
single semi, be prepared for the guy in front of you to swerve into the passing
lane without using a turn signal just so he can pace the semi for a good 20
miles.

Rain or snow or shine, MO drivers are consistently horrible all year long :(

My boss is on a road trip from home to Houston to LA. He left Houston and
wanted to go through Amarillo. He said he was surprised to see all of the
vehicles in the ditches. Then he figured out why. He was doing 80MPH and you
Texans were flying past him. See, in Illinois, you probably won't get pulled
over by the state police for doing 10 over, so that's what we all do. Unless
you're swerving or something stupid. I usually do the speed limit, sometimes 5
or 10 over if there isn't a lot of traffic. And troopers just zoom past doing
like 90. How nice that the law doesn't have to obey the law.

So as I'm heading to the office today (normally 20 minute drive which took 40),
I get on the highway and people are doing like 35-40. By this time it's mostly
raining and the slushy stuff is pretty much gone. People, if you can't drive in
shitty Chicago weather, then stay off the road or at the very least move the
hell over. To piss me off further, what comes on the radio? I can't drive 55.
You gotta be kidding me. I see lots of Missouri plates on I-55. You guys like
to go way, way over the speed limit when the weather is decent and then drive
like old folks if it's even a little cloudy. So I think you should stay in MO
cuz your driving really pisses me off. Probably you downstater's too, stay down
there. I saw one car in the ditch, flipped over I might add, and the plate was
Tennessee. So you guys too.

Sorry, I had a bad day.
