Perhaps GMO terminator seeds are kinda like proprietary binary
distributions.
Similar to the "Evil" unix, apple, microsofts.

Eventually we may have open-source-GMO's which are actually beneficial to
people and the environment.  For instance ones that can reproduce more
effectively, or have better nutrient profiles.

Then since these open-source-GMO's will have source-code available, people
will be able to verify they don't have malevolent side-effects such as
those found in current "Evil" GMO's
