If such a brain simulation device existed that computed your mental state in parallel, then it could just as well be you. It would be a simple programming change from predicting your actions to carrying out those actions (controlling a robot, perhaps). To everyone else, it would certainly appear to be just as aware and conscious as you appear to be. Is is really conscious? Are you?
