Just read some books by the mentioned authors and judge for yourself.
According to all of those people it has nothing to do with the
brain/intellect but with being profitable in the eyes of the larger
evolutionary process. All religions and many philosophies will tell you
that the way to interact with "it" is to calm your mind, to overcome ego
and to be in the present moment largely ignoring the concept of time.
Ultimately it will depend on your own experiences and level of
indoctrination whether you are open to certain possibilities or not.
Campbell explains it in more scientific terms. A virtual reality trying
to evolve through the individual development of instantiated pieces of
itself (primordial consciousness). Waking up to the possibility of more
profound aspects of our reality than just physics and mathematics would
be our job. (Spiritual growth, becoming love ...)
Does a calm mind/low entropy consciousness become more potent? Unlikely
from a Newtonian world view but definitely a possibility once you
consider that our reality might be embedded in something larger ... a
more fundamental evolutionary process than working on consciousness
instead of energy and baryon matter ... something trying to gain
complexity and to lower its own inherent entropy.
If you are running a million instances of "The Sims" trying to find
beneficial environment for consciousness evolution you might as well
give those "players" who actually develop more influence of the virtual
reality and generate a positive feedback loop. Just like Blizzard
Entertainment makes decent people "Game Masters" so the game experience
(hopefully) improves for everybody.

In my simple way, it sounds like the person is able to factor in
thousands of times as much "stuff" into the workings of decision
making. Not sure if this means that the unseen intuitive aspects of
the brain are being used more fully (perhaps by "trusting" the
intuition) or, that through some special acquisition of the right
pieces of knowledge the brain now ties together thousands of times as
many relevant bits of rules and facts.
