The governments should ideally be unified, the planet in homoeostasis, and the leaders confident enough in earth-humans continued independence, before the official veil will be lifted. SETI/MUFON etc aren't going to release classified information, besides radio is a slow and insecure means of communication. If you would like to glimpse beyond the official veil, there are hundreds or thousands of people who have revealed their experiences with extra-terrestrials, their craft, their people, their technology. Arecibo has been answered by those stationed here. I like to be informed, and have a long term view. Though you can feel free to go on pretending, at least till governments decide to officially lift the veil, which will quite possibly be only decades from now, or longer who knows, it's already been at least half a century.
