To do this job right I need some help. The two petitions should be
similarly formatted and side-by-side with links to each other. If I write
the text, will you make a "Chinese copy" of your present petition, only
replacing the present text with my new text. Of course I welcome minor
editing to keep the "look and feel" of the two petitions as nearly
identical as possible.

This would require two minor mods to your present petition,
1. the ability for people to change their minds and "sign" the other
peitition, and
2. adding a hypperlink to the other petition.

Now, we must both be wondering if a 3rd position will emerge.

There is NO QUESTION in my mind that much good will come from AGI research,
as THAT is why I first joined this forum. The BIG questions are the three
big disaster scenarios:
1. Long before a functional AGI is built, that some crazy in or out of
government will come to imprison or kill us.
2. If and when an AGI is built, that it will actually do what people now
seek - to preserve their values and in so doing seal the fate of the human
race.
3. That in abandoning our values, that a future AGI will find good reason
to enslave or kill us all.

#1 above appears to be mitigated by "flying below the RADAR" which involves
NOT floating petitions.
#2 above appears to be mitigated by working on civilizations' challenges
BEFORE there is an AGI.
#3 above appears to be mitigated by sloooowing down the development and
early deployment process, which open source would ruin.

Anyway, will you create a side-by-side reverse petition if I do (most of)
the writing?

Full employment can be had with the stoke of a pen. Simply institute a six
hour workday. That will easily create enough new jobs to bring back full
employment.
