"Better," in this case, is far from objective. If a program is
more stable, that's an objective improvement everyone can agree
on. This is about adding a "feature" the result of which is
something that a fair number of people object to.

Um... wrong. Should this be added, we're gonna have to *LOOK* at
this stuff. As I and another gentleman pointed out, whether you
use single-window mode or multiple windows doesn't affect anyone
but you; a "feature" to swack color codes onto *everything* you
send affects *everyone* you converse with.

This attempt to ignore the impact the color codes have on others
is, to be blunt, *SELFISH*. "I want to inflict my idea of what's
pretty on everyone in every channel I visit, and HOW DARE YOU
even question my Deity-given right to decide what colors YOU
see!" True, *some* clients can filter them out, but not all.

Set the colors YOU see on YOUR computer the way YOU want, and
grant me the respect to do the same on *MINE*. Use the color
codes sparingly where emphasis is needed, please. If you feel the
need to create multi-colored text extravaganza... perhaps you'd
be happier with a copy of Scala MM400. ;)
