There really is NO argument here. If people want to send all their text in colour,
they can ALREADY do that.
All that the original poster was asking for was for their to be a setting for him to
be able to do this automatically without having to assign it to Function keys, etc.
It's not actually like the AmIRC user population makes up that large a percentage of
the IRC user population anyway, so it's not like this is going to contribute that
greatly :-) And you can rest assured that people using other IRC clients can already
do this easily using scripts, etc.
And ALL clients can filter out people that use colour codes in everything they send -
it's called IGNORE. So even if your software doesn't have any more intelligent
capabilities to filter it out, you *don't* have to see it...
I personally couldn't give a toss either way. I've used IRC for years, and none of the
channels I go on have people using colour at all regularly. I'd be surprised if I saw
one line that had coloured text out of 1000.
