No question. On the other hand, once again, you are a single data point,
just as I am a single data point (and, hence, the "FWIW" aspect to my
reply).

What changed in the earlier incident is that we got other data points that
backed your position, and I never quibbled once the evidence mounted.
Heck, I was grateful that a cause was identified.

I await seeing other data points on the topics you outlined. At that
point, you and I will be in better shape to make judgments.

Good to know.

If the problems are not reported elsewhere or are not that widespread,
then perhaps there is a hardware defect with your device (e.g., something
causing inadequate heat shedding, leading to intermittent processor
failures). That too is bad, particularly if there are lots of affected
devices, but means a replacement device would resolve the issue, and it
means that Android-the-OS may not be the culprit.

I fail to see how those two statements go together.

Now, if your phone were unlocked (which you should be able to do by this
time), and you had the same problems with a borrowed SIM or prepaid SIM or
something else from another network, then you could more positively state
that the issue is not the network.
