A few of us are working on setting up standard metadata for app descriptions, to try to simplify distributing apps to multiple markets, among other things. http://groups.google.com/group/appfeed It's just starting up, though. > On Mon, Nov 15, 2010 at 11:41 AM, Tim <[email protected]> wrote: >> None of these seem to offer anything particularly new, Some support paid applications in areas not yet supported by the Android Market. >> and I don't want users to have to >> search many app stores for apps. The users who do not have the Android Market are just screwed. And the users who have the Android Market, but live in an area where paid apps are not yet supported, are just screwed. An analogy is that you will only sell your gourmet cookies through Walmart. There's nothing particularly wrong with such a decision, but bear in mind not everyone shops at Walmart, for various reasons (e.g., none nearby, none in their country, don't like their labor policies, don't like how they crowd out other stores). Hence, only some people will be able to buy your gourmet cookies. It may be that distributing outside of Walmart is sufficiently annoying that you don't want to deal with it, or any number of other reasons you might have for your Walmart-only strategy. -- Mark Murphy (a Commons Guy) http://commonsware.com | http://github.com/commonsguy http://commonsware.com/blog | http://twitter.com/commonsguy Warescription: Three Android Books, Plus Updates, One Low Price! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group.
