A middle ground would be a web tool where developers could import their strings.xml files to a content managmeent system, then if an app store wanted to launch with say 100 apps in Elbonia, they could do all the localisation work themselves in a way that would benefit the developer. Note: This could also be done through APK introspection.
My point being, the economics vary depending on the app, market, device and target language (usually its the developer that makes all the initial investment), but it would work as long as the translator gets paid in the end. >>As for the crash issue<< Thanks Al, I'll give it a go.
