Erm, this is incorrect.

Nokia says they will deliver a MeeGo device this year, but they will not be 
able to do the same with a WP7 one. So the proper comparison should be how the 
situation will be about 18 to 24 months from now.

Note that as of right now, there are applications for MeeGo. How? Because all 
Qt applications in the Ovi Store that work on Symbian also work on MeeGo (and 
there are a bunch already).

Had Nokia chosen not to abandon focus on MeeGo, in 18 months the status of 
Windows Phone 7 vs. MeeGo would be a small win in number of applications for 
WP7, and possibly a tie in the number of features that one platform has and 
the other lacks.
