I've seen enough people dressed as chickens or hot dogs waving signs to believe that it must be effective. There's one particular place in Boulder where they put a guy in a pickle suit, and they've been putting him there for years.
Here's related a question for everyone: Has anyone tried any "link exchange" networks to any positive effect? I know most of you aren't doing games, and the ones I'm aware of are game focused, but I'm curious if anyone has tried that. The "cost" is potentially zero, as it typically trades impressions from your app for impressions in other apps. Haven't had the opportunity to try it, though.
