WIN95 *will* notice and you will get "wrong version" errors unless you
have "sysed" the hard drive for the version corresponding to the utilities
in your C:\DOS directory and you have set your path variable to include
C:\DOS.

Oh yes I will have to worry about a "WIN95" system floppy, because the
"WIN95" system floppy is one having an operating system which is really
just another version of DOS. "WIN95" will not run without its own peculiar
version of DOS. I do not intend to run DOS and WIN95 during the same
session. I just want to be able to run my favorite DOS version on the same
computer that has had WIN95 installed, and without permanently messing up
the WIN95 installation.

Of course I know that I can boot to DOS by doing the F8 thing. The
problem is that I don't like the DOS version that comes with WIN95. For
this reason I am contemplating booting to a floppy disk having a decent
version of DOS, and then "sysing" the hard drive.

Yes, of course. I mentioned this in my original post on this subject,
but it is good that you should think of this anyway.

I am not the least bit confused about over what you are saying. I just
wish someone would address my question that you quoted in the first
paragraph. You are not talking about what I asked about.
