Not really ...
As long as there are standards which can be implemented freely there is not
really a problem !

And there are only 2 expections to this rule ... and guess what both come
from M$.
These are Active-X and a proprietary extension to Java.

SUN sued M$ for saying that their version of Java is Java compliant (tm)
and SUN won ...
M$ is not allowed to label their products Java compliant any more.
(sure ... M$ java looses it's platform independance and runs only on
windows ... and the platform independance is THE big strength of java ...

what is necessary ??
Why do we use http and not gopher ??

JavaScript would only be a problem, if you were not allowed to implement it
in your own projects.
This is NOT the case ...

JavaScript doesn't have such a capability ...
I have never seen that my browser modifies local HTML files to include
JavaScript, when I loaded a site which uses JavaScript ...

So it doesn't fit the definition of a virus.

2 virii can usually coexist in one individuum.

CV> To create awareness of the problem we must complain.
look at some recent browser statistics ...
as long as the vastest majority has the capability to interpret JavaScript,
most people think that it is OK to use it.

says who :))))
