Hi all, it's been an eventful week.
I have not been able to download my email sucessfully since last Sunday.
Previously I started to receive duplicate emails from the Arachne
server. The duplicates did seem to go away for a couple of days, but
45 odd Arachne list emails on Sunday evening announced they were back.
The file size in bytes were slightly different for each duplicate, and
some had the "headers" attached. One email would not download at all,
and Arachne gave up the ghost with a mail download abort error msg.
Arachne coulden't tell my [EMAIL PROTECTED] that She had received my
email successfully, so the server kept it and the endless loop starts.
Every time I connected I downloaded all the duplicate list messages
(and the headers) and it aborted at the same message number every time.
This evening Freeserve cleared the problem by deleating all my email
that was in my inbox at the pop server. They sent me a reply today to
the email I sent them on Monday, saying that the problem was caused by
the Arachne server, and they recomended I unsubscribed from the Arachne
list.
They did however send me a link to some downloadable freeserve software
in order to access the pop@freeserve server to check and delete any
email incase the problem happens again. Wish I had had the software
before !
Have we had a problem with the Arachne list server and if so has
Mel and Jake had a problem too, or was I just lucky.
