Same thing here... downloading got stuck on 34 messages on sunday
evening July 1st. I tried it three times and the thing got stuck at
message 30 every time.
But #30 was 555kb large and not from the Arachne server (list).

To get the e-mail running again I used IE-5 and that was OK.
No troubles after that but I had to clean the mess in the Arachne Inbox
because there were 3x 30 messages = 90 messages and 60 to kill.

Sometimes this happens, especialy in the weekends, and always with large
e-mails. I don't bother to connect the IP... no use.
I better wait until Monday with less trafic on the web and the
telephonlines.
For the IP this makes money and my IP is a service from the
phone-company. They use junk and not enough lines for the server and the
users have to connect, and again, and again, ....
And to pay, and to pay, and to pay, ....
