Full of knowledge, yes.
 You configured the original with the XF86_Mach server,  when you switched
cards, one has to reconfigure X and pick a server that will work for your
card.  If you cant find one go with the 16vga server.  Akin to what you do
for DOS or Win when a proper driver isnt available.  You dont have to wipe
out the partition and reload.
Linux is not for Granma's.   Never was never will be.
