With MS-DOS 6.22 without a RAM drive but with MS Smartdrv installed (my normal setup) I get a total elapsed time of 21 secs. With your RAM drive setup and IBM DOS 3.30 I get an elapsed time of 11 sec. And running speedchk from the A: drive (mistakes will happen) I got an elapsed time of 7 min and 48 secs. <grin> If you put together a file that would load the same ramdrive setup that I could use with my MS-DOS 6.22 I could test again and see the speed improvement solely related to the different OS. (which I gather is the point of this exercise) Hope this helps. Sam Ewalt Croswell, Michigan, USA -- Arachne V1.70;rev.3, NON-COMMERCIAL copy, http://arachne.cz/
