This is consistent with several tests I did on several machines.
Even my old Toshiba 2200  386SX at 20 MHz managed 28 seconds.

This was running on a 4Mb MSDOS 5 Virtual drive where I loaded everything.

As a summary, the setup Clarence put together consistently takes about
60% the time that I could otherwise achieve with DRDOS 6 or MSDOS 5.
I should try it with DRDOS 7 and DPMI.
