I totally agree, that it is too bad, but it is a bit of BMC's own dooooing...
Yearly Upgrades to the Server Environment, much less the continual binary patches, makes it a tough sell to companies which have a scrict take-to-production model. We could barely get a patch through the cycle before the next one was out... Application Patches, yet alone Upgrades (ITSM 7 is not a upgrade, it is a REPLACEMENT), have still yet been able to be "installed as advertised", which means if you want to patch, you MUST stay OOB, or have a good development team that can re-encorporate all your modifications (which it seems listening to the list on V7 OOB is still quite high :( ) - When will we be able to properly apply a patch without breaking "properly performed customizations?" (ie: Disable a filter, add a vui, etc)-- add into the support factor of "please apply patch X and then we will investigate" adds to everyone's frustrations, just not the tech-heads, but the Application Owners and Senior Management... Then when you add on-top the module licensing schemes, and their Support Costs, a large cost model is now presented. You would think (hope) that existing customers, will like to retain the initial investment (Server & User Licenses), although once it is "off the books" the rules of accounting apply. Hopever only time will tell, but Good Luck for the next year, and when it "becomes time" you have a good list to post a "I am free" notice to ;~) Robert Molenda On Feb 5, 2008 8:16 AM, Axton <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Too bad.
