Or they might have got some fungus :-) it happens to those disks. I learnt that when some of the 5" disks I had got that years and years ago... happens when they are exposed to excessive humidity or are touched directly in just the same way cassettes or video tapes did..

I bet they’re so old they’ve gotten warped with age and can’t be read. This is like awesome! And 1.4 MB of data on a single floppy disk! Get outta here that can't be true! And when I first held one I was like how can something so small as this hold that much data! Fast forward to this day and age.. I have here besides me a Micro SD card of 2 GB capacity that I just took out of my camera! Which nearly isn't even the highest capacity for that size even! I took Training in Maryland in 1994 on v1.2. I think Bob was right by recalling that the classes were in the Sun buildings. We had these fantastic thin clients (19" I think) that were COLOR. Blew my mind. I had just had my (now teenage) son. Those were the days. There were only two apps (I think); Helpdesk and Asset. Today, I looking at all the manuals if you have the whole ITSM suite, I no longer think that's possible. I'm curious, how many folks started Remedy by just reading the docs, or did most people go out and get formal training. I wrote the help-desk app for the network ops center, as well as configuration forms, certification forms, lots of stuff. Back then it was a good front-end for a database. We worked with voice communications, so the FCC required a lot of auditing, all of which had to be written. I got into Remedy as a C programmer who didn't have a project at the moment. I was horrified to find no Else statements built into the system. I can't remember when that came along, but it was quite an advance in programming. We worked with HP-UX and an early version of Oracle. Installation of just about anything was a bear, but once all the ducks were lined up it went well. Ever since then I've worked with the ARS. Now it's quite sophisticated in comparison with the old days. On Sun, Jun 28, 2009 at 4:39 PM, Daniel Bloom <[email protected]> wrote: From a bit of googling ..... Remedy Corp.
