I didn't liked it too some time ago, because of two reasons: I like to see
markup to know it's there, and I didn't like "jumping" string length when
cursor moving between lines.

But.

After working with document with huge amount of markup (needed to keep
author's style after converting from pdf to asciidoc), it turns out so
many markup make it very hard to read and work out this document.
Concealing make a huge difference and document become readable again.

Next, I discover concealcursor Vim's variable, and it help avoid "jumping"
strings and make reading/navigating text with concealed symbols ease.

And last - after some experiments it turns out there is no sense in
concealing all, or even most of asciidoc markup. It works best if only few
markup types concealed (bold/italic/monospaced/markup-related escaping).
Text in this markup highlighted in different colors by vim, so I _know_
markup is there and which type of markup even when I didn't see markup
symbols. (As for markup-related escaping symbols - I didn't see them, and
that's for the Great Good, because they have nothing with my content.)

In this limited form concealing plays very nicely, so you may wanna try it
again to reconsider your attitude, you may (or may not) be surprised.
I'm in no way insisting this feature should be accepted, just wanna share
some thoughts about it.
