Hi Alex, I've given it another try, and while I'm in no doubt that conceal absolutely works for you, it doesn't work for me -- I just hate not seeing the formatting characters, I find it too surprising, and for me, it doesn't improve readability (editing environments are weird like that, perceived aesthetics are very personal).
