Is it possible to toggle it on and off, with the default being off. You'd never get a consensus about whether conceal support is right for everyone or not...like vim vs emacs or vanilla vs chocolate. But, if it is useful to some (or many) as powerman suggests, then it would be nice to have it as an option. (I haven't tried it yet myself, so I'm speaking generally).
