Both Political and Economic offensive measures are required to deal with the
Bangladeshi Problem.
Organised effort is required for economic offensive /boycott of the
Bangladeshis. Many people have stated earlier (in both Print media and
Electronic media) that Economic boycott is the best way to drive out the
Bangladeshis. Such discussions are going on since last few years. but, it seems
the economic boycott is not happening at all. since we are unable to motivate
the Native Masses.
here comes the role of the Organisations (AASU/AJYCP/other Native Student
unions). due to large numbers of supporters/members and networks these
organisations can make the said Organised effort for the economic boycott.
i have an idea which these Organisations can try :-
Constitute a workforce from the willing and motivated members/supporters (who
have completed/dropped out from Studies). also, constitute a Commitee to
Monitor, help and co-ordinate with these workforces.
a) identify&motivate a few thousands for working in Construction works
(buildings/roads). pressurise the contractors working in Assam to replace
Bangladeshi origin labours with this workforce. also, Pressurise the
contractors to pay decent wages so that these people are motivated. Care should
be taken by the Leadership and motivate properly so that this workforce does
their job sincerely and the Contractors dont go back to the Bangladeshis.
b) identify&motivate another few thousands for selling Fish, Chickens,
Vegetables and other petty things in the Bazars. bulk buying from the suppliers
may be done by the Organisation Centrally (in the area level) and distribute
the these vendors for selling on commission basis.
c) the increased number of Bikes in the hands of Students may be used to
replace the Riksaws pulled by the Bangladeshis. identify&motivate another few
thousands to use their Bikes for using as "Bike Taxi" (i had seen it in a few
places in a small scale). The students can also earn something in this way. The
Organisations can appeal and persuade the public to use these Bikes in place of
the Riksaws of the Bangladeshis. Also, care has to be taken to regulate the
Fare&service so that it becomes better alternative to the Riksaws.
d) identify&motivate another few thousands (from the dropouts) for doing
Cultivation in the New Chhars of the Brahmaputra. Organisations should occupy
the New Chhars and help these workers to do their job safely (earlier it was
seen, Assamese youths trying to occupy new Chhars were attacked by the
Bangladeshis).
e) identify&motivate another few thousands (from the dropouts) for working as
domestic helps. motivate/pressurise the Genereal public to pay a decent wage
and to behave roperly with these peoples.
I think, if the workforce is properly motivated and Patronised by the
Organisations the system can do wonder. If people came out to be Martyres in
the last movement, Motivating to work for the safety of homeland should not be
that hard. also, the Organisations should persuade the public not to use
services of Bangladeshi origin peoples.
The organisations can take up the above measure along with the Political
movement.
