You cant send to assphelp @ yourdomin.com.  It has to be a domain 
outside of your org, so that it is sent back out *through* ASSP.  If you 
use assphelp @ asspsmtp.org, ASSP will catch it and process it.  If you 
mis-configured something, it will reach the real asspsmtp.org mail 
server and send you an auto-response telling you that you did something 
wrong.
