Gentlemen:
This thread that has generated from a prior thread has been MOST
enlightening! Thank you ALL for your responses. Much appreciated!
Glad it all worked out for you, and we've all learned something about
this legal stuff :-)
Somehow the topic went on a tangent towards a "legal" issue about
contracts -- regardless, that too has been VERY enlightening. And yes, I'm
getting an iPhone .. probably the next generation :). Main reason is for
the Quad GSM capability, a huge storage capacity, MP3 Music to play when I
am in a flight, an organizer/scheduler for my appointments, Network
Capability, and the ability to install Open SSH to remote connect to my
dedicated servers and a SIP Client. (Yes, you CAN install 3rd party apps).
Just so you know, OpenMoko can do most of that today, except it has sshd
already installed and running out of the box. You can drop an 8GB
microSD card in (assuming they're available by the time you buy). It is
unlocked quad GSM. If you're waiting for the next generation iPhone,
check out the next generation of OpenMoko the week before you buy; if
it's released by then :-), the GTA02 will have WiFi as well as GSM.
Or don't :-) Good luck with your next phone, whatever it is.
