For the curious minds, the record set back in 2005 for unamplified wifi-signal was 125 miles (201.168 km) was set back in Utah by some high school kids.

Will produce some amazing information on the long range achieved, both un-amplified and amplified.

Fortunately for us Canadians - specially in Ontario - investment to purchase a mountain from eBay is not needed, as the topography is not a flat land :) . A basic google maps and google earth will reveal the amazing topography and locations of higher elevations to achieve what is needed.

Apparently the concept of using off the shelf hardware vs. commercial hardware to achieve 30+ km, to interconnect villages and towns, is quite common in developing nations in Asia, Africa and South / Latin America.

Anything is possible with reasonable planning and thinking out of the box.

Cheers!
