No. I formated hda2 manually, rebooted, edited the .run.conf., rebooted, and it's been running that way for a couple of weeks now. I thought UnionFS would just overlay the read-only root partition, and changes I make to eg. /etc/asterisk/*.conf are sticky, so I'm a bit lost as to why passwd fails editing /etc/shadow.
