I'm not sure it is the quality of that DAC. I tested an Electrocompaniet ECD-1. It could also be that your amplifier, speakers, cables or the listening room that masks things. Here, a have some resonance in the bass area that I can't cure fully, but the treble isn't affected. This weekend, I visited a friend, bringing my PSU and speakers (with cables - Kimber 4TC), playing through his amp (Electrocompaniet ECI-5). His listening room doesn't have any problems so that sounded much better than here.
