No! No fancy cabling! Just sorting out the cabling's LAYOUT and any ground loops. I think it is just as well to forget about equipment updates if you haven't first used a contact cleaner. Buy cheap standard ones instead of expensive "audiophile" versions. Disconnect as much as possible from the amplifier, clean the contacts and see what the sound is like now. Don't forget the mains power contacts.
