I see that this is not the place to discuss this. Sorry. As I said, I think the SB3 is a really good product. It is elegantly designed. I'm not trying to criticize the SB3.
Before signing off for good on this issue. I'll reassure you that I have iTunes EQ set to off. I have the volume maxed in both iTunes and the audio setting of the Mac (and the SB3 set to both max volume and fixed volume both). I suppose that the Mac could be doing something "sneaky" -- though I doubt it. I realize that the majority of you are PC users. That you are committed to your SB3's and to FLAC and FOOBAR2000 and such. I know that most of you are skeptical of iTunes and equate it with MP3s and damaged sound. I realize that you think that somehow Apple Lossless Audio Codec is somehow inferior to "Free Lossless Audio Codec". I'm not saying anything -- except, for me, and only me, a direct output from the media server sounds marginally better than an 802.11g stream. That's all. And, even with that, I think the SB3 brings other assets to the table that for many would tip the scales in Slim Devices favor. I've returned my Squeezebox today, so I'll sign off of this forum now and I seem to have been made redundant now. -- creativepart ------------------------------------- Great Guitar Websites: www.telecaster.com | www.strat-talk.com | www.gibson-talk.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------ creativepart's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10822 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=34592 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
