I think he is using a DVD recorder that has a hard disc in it. Sounds like he is recording to the hard disc via line in and burning the "movie" to a DVD and then uses a PC to strip out the audio soundtrack. Sounds like a lot of work. Plus, the sampling rate has to be adjusted on the ripping stage from 48kHz to 44 kHz.
Regarding the ADSTech box - I bought one of these a couple of years ago and ended up bringing right back to the store (CompUSA). Perhaps they have improved, but I thought it was a piece of junk. The biggest problem I had was it didn't have the ability to adjust the recording level. The driver also crashed multiple times on my laptop. I use a Yamaha soundcard in my PC to record and digitize vinyl and tapes. The issue with cheap PC soundcards is noise level. -- maggior ------------------------------------------------------------------------ maggior's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9080 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=38304 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
