The quality you'll get from such a setup will reach from horrible (with a standard sound card) to very good (with a sound card that will set you back just as much as the SB and will come loaded with features you'll never need and a clumsy user interface). Plus setting a computer up next to your audio equipment is... I don't know, I would not do it.
