Not sure exactly what comparison you are asking about. No formal
testing, but I do occasionally feed the S/PDIF input of the transporter
from an old laptop computer (S/PDIF output) for the purpose of listening
to some streams that I can only get via the PC (a webbased player).  I
just played a 24/96 file via Foobar2000 on the laptop feeding the
Transporter digital in as well.  No formal test and certainly not blind,
but I detect no difference on the 24/96 files from foobar2000 fed to
transporter vs switching over to listening to the same 24/96 files
played by the transporter directory (from LMS).  I used to use the
laptop feeding a Benchmark I DAC via S/PDIF (with foobar2000) as my main
music server (pre-squeezebox).
