Jean,
It is OK, and you are not missing anything.

The owners of mailing lists change ISP, servers and MLM software, and it
is a seamless process. You will often on list for OS or MLM software lists
hear requests on procedures to migrate lists from A to B.

A couple of years agg when subscribed to the Mailman list ther were
frequent new subscribers requesting info on migrating from X to Mailman.
When Jacqueline suggested they should resubscribe I recalled one list
reported on the mailman list of 130,000+ subscribers, could you imagine
asking them to subscribe to the same list because it was to be located?.
